HATTIESBURG – The University of Southern Mississippi will celebrate the 95th anniversary of its founding Wednesday, March 30, with a variety of Founders' Day festivities, set to begin at 2:30 p.m. on the north lawn of the Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building.

John Cox, the voice of the Golden Eagles, will make a presentation on the history and future of Golden Eagles athletics, followed by outgoing Student Government Association President Walt Cain, who will reflect on his year in office.

The newly elected SGA officials will then be inaugurated by the outgoing SGA attorney general. Students, faculty, staff and friends of Southern Miss are encouraged to attend and to enjoy an assortment of refreshments after the ceremony.

That evening, the second annual Official Ring Ceremony will be held at the Shelby Freland Thames Polymer Science Research Center Auditorium, where select students and alumni will receive their Official Rings.

For more information on Founders' Day, contact the Southern Miss Alumni Office at (601) 266-5013.
