HATTIESBURG – The
University of Southern Mississippi's First Stop Family Support Center
will hold a seminar on the Gulf Coast for military and veteran families
caring for loved ones with a developmental disability.
Heather Hebdon-founder and director of STOMP (Specialized
Training of Military Parents)-is the featured speaker for the March
Hebdon's presentation is titled "Families Under
the Flag: Working with the Exceptional Family in the Military."
During the presentation, Hebdon will discuss the history of STOMP,
its philosophy and services, and the issues that come up when working
with a military family who has a special-needs member.
The seminar is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
and will take place at Gulfport's Orange Grove Community Center
at 13472 Interstate Highway 49 South. Admission is free, and lunch
will be provided for a nominal fee.
