HATTIESBURG -- The University of Southern Mississippi Center for International and Continuing Education will offer a Young Writers Camp this summer.

The camp offers rising second- through fifth-grade students an opportunity to write for their own enjoyment and at their own rates in a variety of individual and group activities, under the supervision of experienced writing instructors. The camp is being presented in conjunction with the South Mississippi Writing Project, which is an affiliate of the National Writing Project and the Mississippi Writing/Thinking Institute.

The camp will be divided into two sessions, June 7-18 and June 21-July 2. The fee is $150 per person. Each session is limited to 15 participants. For more information, call (601) 266-4186 or visit the CICE Web site at
