SOUTHERN MISS GULF COAST CIVIC CHORALE TO
HOST SECOND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT

LONG BEACH -- The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Civic Chorale will hold its second annual Christmas concert titled REJOICE! on Dec. 9 in Gulfport.

Free and open to the public, the concert will start at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 1912 E. Beach Blvd., in Gulfport.

The USM Gulf Coast Civic Chorale is directed by Joanne Edwards and is accompanied by Dr. John Adams on the piano and the organ.

The performance will feature the first movement of John Rutter's "Gloria" and an arrangement of "Jingle Bells" entitled "Nutcracker Jingles."

The featured soloist for the series will be Southern Miss faculty member John DeChiaro, a widely acclaimed classical guitarist who made his career debut at Carnegie Hall in 1976. DeChiaro has recorded two compact discs and has played for Pope John Paul II and former President Bill Clinton.
