SOUTHERN MISS STUDENT FOUND DEAD

HATTIESBURG - A student at The University of Southern Mississippi was found dead in her residence hall room Sunday evening.

Shekita Robinson, an 18-year-old freshman from Mound Bayou, was discovered by a suitemate. University Police were notified immediately.

The body showed no signs of trauma and there did not appear to be any foul play. An autopsy is being performed in Jackson.

University counselors were brought in to assist with students housed in the Hillcrest Residence Hall. Any student seeking counseling assistance is encouraged to call the University Counseling Center at (601) 266-4829.
