SOUTHERN MISS' COASTAL TEACHING SITES TO CLOSE TUESDAY AT NOON IN ANTICIPATION OF HURRICANE IVAN

LONG BEACH, Miss. -- Offices and teaching sites for The University of Southern Mississippi along the Mississippi Gulf Coast will close at noon Tuesday in anticipation of destructive weather from Hurricane Ivan.

The Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, the Stennis Space Center teaching site in Hancock County, the J. L. Scott Marine Education Center and Aquarium in Biloxi, the Keesler teaching site at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory and the Cedar Point operation in Ocean Springs, and the Jackson County teaching site in Gautier will all close at noon Tuesday.

All classes at Southern Miss’ main campus in Hattiesburg will continue as scheduled. For more information regarding the Gulf Coast campuses closing, call (228) 865-4573.
