Gulf Coast Students Honored by College of Education and Psychology

Hattiesburg—Twenty-one University of Southern
Mississippi students from across the Gulf Coast were honored by
the College of Education and Psychology this spring at the college’s
annual awards ceremony.
Awards and scholarships were given to approximately 65 students
from the various departments within the college. Students were recognized
for their academic achievements and contributions to the university.
The College of Education and Psychology is home to seven departments:
Child and Family Studies; Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education;
Educational Field Experiences; Education Leadership and Research;
Library and Information Sciences; Psychology; and Technology Education.
Award recipients are as follows:
- Karen Aderer of Bay St. Louis received an academic achievement
award from the Psychology department. Aderer is a senior psychology
major.
- Rebecca Anderson of Gautier received the Outstanding Junior
Award for the entire college. Anderson is a junior elementary
education major.
- Sheila Baggett of Gulfport received an academic achievement
award from the Psychology department. Baggett is a senior psychology
major.
- Karen Bishop of Long Beach received an academic achievement
award from the Psychology department. Bishop is a senior psychology
major.
- Angelia Bone of Vancleave received an academic achievement award
from the Psychology department. Bone is a senior psychology major.
- Jane Bunn of Gulfport received the Outstanding Senior Award
for the Gulf Coast campus. Bunn is a senior elementary education
major.
- Jesse Cheeseman of Ocean Springs received the Outstanding TOE
Student Award. This award is presented to an undergraduate student
with an overall minimum GPA of a 3.5 who demonstrates leadership
and shows a potential contribution to the profession. Cheeseman
is a junior Technology Education major.
- Olivia Cox of Gulfport received an academic achievement award
from the Psychology department. Cox is a senior psychology major.
- Sharon Davis of Gulfport received the Warren Tracy scholarship
from the School of Library and Science. Davis is a graduate student
studying library and information science.
- Drew Foretich of Gulfport received an academic achievement award
from the Psychology department. Foretich is a senior psychology
major.
- Kimberly Gerosolina of D’Iberville received an academic achievement
award from the Psychology department. Gerosolina is a senior psychology
major.
- Vanessa Headley-Perniciaro of Pass Christian received an academic
achievement award from the Psychology department. Headley-Perniciaro
is a sophomore psychology major.
- Lindsey Larkin of Gulfport received the Anne M. Rob scholarship
from the School of Library and Information Science. Larkin is
a senior library and information science major.
- Kara Lockhart of Pascagoula received the academic achievement
award for the Gulf Coast campus. Lockhart is a senior elementary
education major.
- Gregory Mack of Biloxi received an academic achievement award
from the Psychology department. Mack is a senior psychology major.
- James Oswalt of Long Beach received an academic achievement
award from the Psychology department. Oswalt is senior psychology
major.
- Vanessa Remel of Gautier received the academic achievement award.
Remel is a senior elementary education major.
- Karen Rhudy of Picayune received an academic achievement award
from the Psychology department. Rhudy is a graduate student studying
psychology.
- Betty Rische of Pascagoula received an academic achievement
award from the Psychology department. Rische is a senior psychology
major.
- Chad Seals of Lucedale received an academic achievement award
from the Technology Education department. Seals is an instructional
technology graduate student.
- Sky Thomas of Bay St. Louis received the Outstanding Practicum
Award. Thomas is a senior technology education major.
