The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Medical Laboratory Science’s American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) student chapter will host the ASCLS annual student forum Friday, Oct. 19 in the University Union.
Guest speakers for the event from the university include Deena Crawford, director of Student Counseling Services and Rusty Anderson, director of Career Services.
The ASCLS Student Forum provides an opportunity for community college students to visit the campus and get acquainted with Southern Miss MLS students and faculty. In addition to the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs offered by the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, a fast-track program for MLT transfer students and a Phlebotomy Certificate Program are also available.
Mississippi community college medical laboratory program directors and students are also invited to the event, along with education coordinators from hospitals affiliated with the Southern Miss Medical Laboratory Service program. More than 100 students are expected to attend.
