Hattiesburg area residents are encouraged to join WUSM – the Southern Miss campus radio station – this Saturday, February 19, for an all day fundraising event at Buffalo Wild Wings in Hattiesburg.
To participate in the fundraiser simply go to www.southernmissradio.com, to print out the event flyer, and then take it, plus all of your family and friends, to Buffalo Wild Wings in Hattiesburg any time February 19. Buffalo Wild Wings will give 15% of all pre-taxed food sales to WUSM. The flyer must be presented in order for WUSM to receive credit.
Known as Roots Radio 88.5, WUSM is a non-commercial radio station offering USM students hands on, and ”on-the-air” experience in the radio broadcasting. The station is proudly known as the voice of The University of Southern Mississippi.
“Roots music is considered to be American, because it is native to our country, and it was developed here,” said Lesley Sanders-Woods, business manager for the Southern Miss Student Media Center. “Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, and Jazz define the American experience, and WUSM defines Roots Radio.”
