A power point program on fire safety designed for college students will be presented Tuesday, Sept. 7 from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. at The University of Southern Mississippi’s Thad Cochran Center, rooms 218 A-B.
The program will include valuable information about fire safety in residence halls and fraternity and sorority housing, including proper use of power surge plugs and general household items requiring power; cooking safety tips; what to do and where to go when a fire alarm is activated; and a review of other fire safety strategies.
Students, including those who live off campus, residence hall directors, student advisors and other members of the campus community are invited to attend this free event. It is sponsored by the Southern Miss Dean of Students office, the State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Southern Miss Fire/Safety Department.
