Amit Kumar of Delhi, India, was recently recognized at the 2011 Graduate Student Research Symposium at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Kumar, a biochemistry major, is the son of Shri. Ram Narain Singh and Shrimati Raj Kumari.
Kumar’s work, “Non-Esterified Fatty Acids Generate Distinct Low Molecular Weight Amyloid-b (Ab42) Oligomers along Pathway different from Fibril Formation,” was selected by the Graduate Senate and Dean of the College of Graduate Studies for the Yarbrough Award as the top paper in his department. Winners receive recognition and a monetary award.
The symposium took place on March 18, 2011 and provided graduate students an opportunity to present their research to faculty, staff, students and members of the broader university community. This symposium is designed to enhance the scholarly environment for graduate students and to highlight the quality, innovative, and diverse scholarship of Southern Miss graduate students.
