Budding inventors can test their creations as part of the Seventh Annual “Invent Your Future” competition set for April 26 at The Accelerator, The University of Southern Mississippi’s new business incubator.

Sponsored by Noetic Technologies, the “Invent Your Future” contest features $15,000 in cash prizes. The technology-oriented competition identifies innovative ideas from around the country and fosters their commercial potential by providing capital and valuable mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs.

“The competition is open to showcase inventions from any field, whether it is biochemistry, polymers, nanotech, biotech, electronics, health care, consumer goods, etc.,” said Christian Corral, branding and communications manager at Noetic. “Entries must involve an invention, but they do not necessarily have to be products. We’re interested in seeing something novel that solves an existing problem that no other product can.”

The deadline for entry submissions is March 25. Finalists will be selected for the live competition on April 26. Final contenders will be required to make a 15-minute presentation, followed by a five-minute question-and-answer session with a panel of three external judges who will select the winners.

“As always, we look forward to this year’s competition,” said Les Goff, president/CEO of Noetic Technologies. “Every year in this unique competition, there is always an invention or two that makes it memorable.”
