Homecoming week at The University of Southern Mississippi will include recognition of prominent alumni, celebration of the restoration of a campus landmark and the school mascot on display like never before.
Employing the theme “We Won’t Hide that Golden Eagle Pride,” homecoming 2013 includes something for everyone as the university welcomes back former students and supporters for the much-anticipated week of festivities.
The culmination will be the crowning of the homecoming queen and introduction of her court, along with Mr. and Miss Southern Miss, at Saturday’s Golden Eagles football game against the University of North Texas.
“We’re looking forward to seeing alumni and friends of the university return to the Hattiesburg campus for a great weekend,” said Jerry DeFatta, executive director of the Alumni Association. “It’s a special time in the life of the university when we can reconnect to a place that means so much to us.”
