Interested in buying a home for your family? Want to learn about the advantages of homeownership; how to secure a mortgage and managing a budget?
The Mississippi Home of Your Own program will hold a homeownership informational meeting on Friday, March 22, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Tchula City Hall at 1027 Main Street in Tchula, Miss. The meeting is co-sponsored by the Wesley Youth Foundation. Refreshments will be served.
The Mississippi Home of Your Own program (HOYO) focuses on creating a support system that identifies potential homebuyers with disabilities, analyzes their housing needs and financial capacity and prepares them for homeownership. Forgivable deferred loans of up to $15,000 are currently available to eligible borrowers with disabilities in designated areas through HOYO. More information about these grants will be available at the meeting.
For more information or to pre-register for the informational meeting, call Nita Martin at the Jackson office of the Institute for Disability Studies toll free at 1.866.883.4474.
