The Katrina Research Center at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast is hosting the first stop for the book tour of “Not Meant to Live Like This: Weathering the Storm of Our Lives in New Orleans.” This free event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. in the Katrina Research Center, located on the third floor of the library on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.
The book tour will feature a panel discussion with Dr. James Pat Smith, professor of history at Southern Miss Gulf Coast and author of “Hurricane Katrina: The Mississippi Story,” and William Stallworth, executive director of HOPE Community Development Agency.
