Learn to Drive Program June 3-21 on Hattiesburg Campus

The University of Southern Mississippi School of Human Performance and Recreation will offer its annual summer Learn to Drive Program June 3-21 on the Hattiesburg campus. Students can choose between morning and afternoon sessions, 8-11 a.m. and noon-3 p.m.

Participants must be at least 14 years old and entering the 9th grade in the fall to participate. Students successfully completing the classes earn one-half credit toward high school graduation. Also, many insurance companies offer a discount for successful completion of a driver’s education program.

The following information is required of participants on the first day of instruction:

  • Verification of Attendance Form from the school they are attending.
  • Certified copy of birth certificate. Photocopies are not acceptable.
  • Original Social Security card. Photocopies are not acceptable.
  • Completed application for learner’s permit/driver’s license. This form will be mailed once the registration fee has been received.
  • Five dollars ($5) in cash to cover the cost of the permit on the day that the student tests for his or her learner’s permit.
