Celeste Wheat of Petal, Miss., was recently recognized at the 2011 Graduate Student Research Symposium at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Wheat, a higher education administration major, is the daughter of Bill and Nell Wheat. She is vice president of the College of Education and Psychology Scholars.
Wheat’s work, “The President’s Role and Executive Responsibilities in University Fundraising and Advancement”, was selected by the Graduate Senate and Dean of the College of Graduate Studies as the top paper in her department. Winners receive recognition and a monetary award.
The symposium took place on March 18, 2011 and provided graduate students an opportunity to present their research to faculty, staff, students and members of the broader university community. This symposium is designed to enhance the scholarly environment for graduate students and to highlight the quality, innovative, and diverse scholarship of Southern Miss graduate students.
