Joshua Frazier of Pulaski, Miss., made a choreographic debut at the Repertory Dance Company’s Spring Dance Concert at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Frazier, a dance performance and choreography major, is the son of Michael and Stacey Frazier of Pulaski, Miss., and Hilda and Daryl Champion of Ocean Springs, Miss. Frazier is a Luckyday Scholar.
Frazier presents “In and Out of Consolation,” a sextet of women traveling in and out of their comfort zones, both physically and emotionally. Reversible costumes, a hanging fence interwoven with flowing red fabric and text written by the dances highlight the search for the consolation causing the audience to wonder if the dancer will eventually find it.
A combination of faculty and student dance work was featured in the Spring Dance Concert. The concert was presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance and featured eight modern dance premieres.
