The annual spring Roots Reunion live radio show returns to Hattiesburg's historic Saenger Theater Saturday, April 14th at 7 p.m. for a celebration of the signature music of our state and region.
Presented by The University of Southern Mississippi Center for Oral History and Cultural Heritage, this event is free and open to the public and will be broadcast live on WUSM 88.5 FM. It can also be heard online at http://www.southernmissradio.com/
The upcoming show will include seven different Mississippi bluegrass and blues acts. Featured at this show is the South Mississippi blues of Hill Country Records recording artist L. C. Ulmer; the bluegrass of the Pine Belt Pickers, and the contemporary Mississippi blues of the Rochelle Harper Band. Also performing will be bluesman Mississippi Fred Gee with Catfish John, the Ridge Road Band and the Patchwork String Band. Singer-songwriter Howard Lips will emcee.
