School of Library and Information Science Launches Online Journal

The inaugural issue of The University of Southern Mississippi School of Library and Information Science’s (SLIS) online journal, SLIS Connecting, is available at http://aquila.usm.edu/slisconnecting/

The purpose of the journal is to share news, information and research with future students, current students, alumni, faculty and the general public through selected faculty publications, invited student publications and the following regular features:

    * The SLIS Update
    * Faculty Spotlight
    * Alumni Spotlight
    * Course Spotlight
    * Student Associations News
    * Upcoming Events.
    * ”From the GAs”
    * SLIS News: Congratulations, Publication, and Presentations

SLIS Connecting will heighten awareness of the school’s program activities, including student achievements, and invite school alumni, employers and friends of the program to contribute.

For more information or for submission of material, email journal editors Stacy Creel at Stacy.Creel@usm.edu or Teresa Welsh at Teresa.Welsh@usm.edu. The journal accepts items of interest for review for publication on topics that may include, but are not limited to, news about the Fay B. Kaigler Children's Book Festival, issues related to librarianship or other topics of interest to LIS faculty, students and LIS professionals.
