Southern Miss’ Maitner Receives U.S. Army Second Lieutenant Commission

Andrew Nicholas Maitner, a native of Gulf Breeze, Fla. recently received his second lieutenant commission through The University of Southern Mississippi’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) during a ceremony held recently on the Hattiesburg campus.

Maitner is the son of John and Mary Ann Maitner. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in historyfrom Southern Miss, and his first military assignment will be at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.
