The University of Southern Mississippi Activities Council (SMAC), in partnership with Eagle Dining and Southern Miss Rec Sports, will host a County Fair from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Centennial Green on the Hattiesburg campus.
The event will consist of carnival-style games and food, a dunking booth, candy buffet, and prizes. This family fun event is open to students, faculty, staff and the community.
There will also be special guest appearances by balloon artist Mr. Silly Socks of Laurel, Miss., Ink Gone Wild temporary airbrush tattoo artists of Jackson, Miss., Wilson’s Kettle Corn of Laurel, Miss., and Hattiesburg Zoo’s traveling petting zoo.
The cost is $8.99 per person for an armband with unlimited access. Students will be able to use their meal plan for an armband.
SMAC President Gavin Synder said the goal of this event is to bring the nostalgia of going to a county fair as a child to the campus community.
“I would love for the students to come out and really experience what we have put together,” Synder said. “There is something for everyone.”
Additional sponsors include Coca-Cola, Delta Sigma Pi, The Student Printz, and WUSM.
