Southern Miss Counseling Center Offers Support in Wake of Student's Death

The Hattiesburg Police Department has identified the victim of a Sunday night homicide as University of Southern Mississippi student Brittany Morgan of Waynesboro, Miss.

“The University was informed Sunday evening by the Hattiesburg Police of the death of one of our students, Brittany Morgan of Waynesboro. We are reaching out to her family to share our heartfelt sympathy and support. We are making grief counseling available to her fellow students affected by this sad tragedy,” said Dr. Joe Paul, vice president of student affairs.

Student Counseling Services (SCS) at Southern Miss is offering support for those impacted by Morgan’s death. SCS hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Campus organizations may also engage the services of an individual SCS counselor for their group.
