The Repertory Dance Company (RDC) at Southern Miss will present two concerts, CONN X US Dance concert, and Divergent Spectrum Dance Concert. Each performance showcases the skillful dancers of the Southern Miss Repertory Dance Company.
Each performance is uniquely choreographed around the site and provides an opportunity for viewers to experience the venues in an atypical fashion.
The first of the two site-specific dances is the CONN X US Dance Concert on March 26 and March 27 at 7 p.m. Performances will be held at Brewsky's Bar and Grill In Hattiesburg.
“This concert features the original works of five junior choreographers, blending their unique explorations of movement through interesting partner work and graceful athleticism,” said Meredith Robertson-Early, dance instructor in the Department of Dance.
RDC will also perform Divergent Spectrums Dance Concert on March 28 and March 29 at 2 p.m at Hattiesburg’s Kamper Park.
“Two junior choreographers will present works that range from fusing traditional folk dance with modern dance to the realm of challenging the audience with a twisted and chilling movement vocabulary,” said Robertson-Early.
“We hope the community will support our students and attend both dance concerts to witness firsthand the creatively inspired works of our student choreographers, the artistic talents of the performers, and how the dance pieces bring each venue to life in new and exciting ways,” said Robertson-Early.
Admission for both events is $5 at the site, check or cash only.
