The University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles baseball team takes on Conference USA rival Rice University at home this week in a three-game series that will decide the league’s regular season championship. Southern Miss currently holds a one-game lead over the Owls.
The teams will meet today at 6 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pete Taylor Park on the Hattiesburg campus. Tonight’s game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network on Comcast Cable channel 735 (digital) and channel 393 (high definition) and will feature a tribute to former head baseball coach C.J. “Pete” Taylor, the park’s namesake, who died Sunday. The team’s seniors will be honored at Saturday’s game.
