Kerri Jones Paul, a University of Southern Mississippi alumna from Pass Christian, Miss. will appear on the season premiere of the CBS reality television show “The Amazing Race” Sunday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. Central Standard Time. She will be joined on the show by her cousin, Stacy Bowers, also of Pass Christian.

“The Amazing Race” pits teams of two against each other in a race around the world, working against the calendar and clock to get to their destinations on time. Sunday’s premiere will mark the Emmy award-winning show’s 20th season.

“It’s amazing,” Paul said of being chosen along with her cousin to be on the show. “I’ve been a fan of it for a while now, but have become an even bigger fan through the casting and researching episodes that I’ve missed.”

Paul, who is program coordinator for the city of Gulfport’s Leisure Services Department, earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication in 2004 and a master’s degree in public relations in 2005, both from Southern Miss. A Leadership Scholar at the university, she served as president of her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and was chosen senior homecoming maid.
