Southern Miss Graduate Students Present During Biology Day at FCAHS

University of Southern Mississippi biological sciences doctoral student Daniel Gaillard of Memphis, Tenn. lets Forrest County Agricultural High School (FCAHS) freshman Dashia Hardy feel the shell of a snapping turtle Friday at the school’s Brooklyn, Miss. campus during a Biology Day presentation about reptiles to FCAHS students. Gaillard is among graduates students in the sciences at the university participating in its GK-12 program, a National Science Foundation (NSF) program designed to improve science literacy among high school students while giving college and university graduate students studying science valuable teaching experience through community outreach.  (University Communications photo by David Tisdale)
