The University of Southern Mississippi will host its inaugural farmers’ market from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, May 7 on the lawn of the Baptist Student Union. Plans call for the farmers’ market to be held every Monday through the end of October.
“We know how popular these events are to residents in our area and we wanted to bring that kind of service and opportunity to the Southern Miss campus,” said Dr. Susan Bone, assistant director of Wellness/Recreational Sports who will serve as the market manager. “We’re anticipating a great turnout in terms of vendors and potential customers.”
Vendors will be given adequate space to accommodate tents, tables and trucks on the Baptist Student Union lawn located on Montague Boulevard, adjacent to the International Building. The market will open for vendors at 2 p.m. and set-up should be completed by 2:45 p.m.
