The Office of Disability Accommodations at The University of Southern Mississippi presented awards of recognition to an outstanding instructor, staffer and student for exemplary service during the 2013-14 academic year.
The Outstanding Instructor Award was presented to Dr. Jeffrey Kaufmann, a professor in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology. He has served on the Southern Miss faculty since 2000. The award is given to an instructor for commitment in creating a welcoming and accessible campus for persons with disabilities.
The Outstanding Staff Award was presented to Ashley-Nicole Ross-Flower, a recreational and assistive technology therapist with the Technology Learning Center on the Southern Miss Gulf Park campus. She has been with the TLC since 2008. The award is given to a staff member for commitment in creating a welcoming and accessible campus for persons with disabilities.
The Student Academic Excellence & Community Involvement Award was presented to Chelsea Page, a senior majoring in Child and Family Studies. The award is given to a junior, senior or graduate student with a GPA of 3.0 or better who is active in community service.
