The School of Construction at the University of Southern Mississippi, in collaboration with The Mississippi Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., will hold a Building Information Modeling Educational Seminar on Sept. 13 at the University’s Hattiesburg campus.

The seminar will address all areas of BIM, including its adoption, relevance, and benefits. Additionally, the seminar will discuss BIM related research studies/projects conducted by the School of Construction faculty at Southern Miss.

The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. in the Thad Cochran Center, Room 218 and is open to builders, contractors, and other industry professionals.

“The event not only provides a common ground for designers and contractors across the state to explore the multitude of possibilities generated with holistic adoption of BIM, but also provides a platform for closer collaboration between the school and construction industry,” said Assistant Professor Dr. Sandeep Langar.

Networking and complimentary lunch will follow the seminar. Registration for the event is now open. To register, please visit www.usm.edu/construction/bim-seminar.

“‘This is an excellent opportunity for those in the construction industry that may have heard about BIM but have questions about the processes, requirements, or benefits,” said School of Construction interim director John Hannon.

The Southern Miss School of Construction strives to provide effective technology, engineering and management education for its graduates to serve needs in the construction, architectural and industrial sectors and works to achieve its mission by creating a learning environment to nurture the development of critical thinking skills; develop knowledge and technology expertise; and support innovation and technology transfer.
