Southern Miss Student Turner receives graduate assistantship

Courtney Turner

Courtney Guess Turner of Oak Grove, a graduate student pursuing a Doctorate of Audiology degree at The University of Southern Mississippi, received an assistantship with the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences for the 2013-14 academic year.

As a graduate assistant, Turner gains hands-on experience in early intervention while working with a certified early oral interventionist at The Children's Center for Communication and Development with groups of 2-to-4-year-olds who are hard of hearing or deaf. She also assists with cochlear implant and hearing aid maintenance.

Turner is the daughter of Martin and Pamela Guess and the wife of William Turner.
