The University of Southern Mississippi School of Music’s trumpet professor, Jason Bergman, is pleased to announce the release of his new CD, On the Horizon: New Music for Trumpet and Piano. The CD features Bergman and William Campbell on trumpet and Ellen Elder on piano.

The CD repertoire includes world premiere recordings of Antônio Guerrerio, James Stephenson, Erik Morales, and José Pasqual-Vilaplana. Also included are works by composers Kevin McKee and John Stevens.

“This project began with a desire to record new, accessible and substantial works for the trumpet and piano,” said Bergman. “I have been fortunate to perform these works many times and each one has become a personal favorite.

“This project wouldn’t be possible without the enormous artistic contributions of my good friend, colleague, and collaborator Ellen Elder. She is as good as they come, and I am thrilled we could create this recording together,” added Bergman.

On the Horizon: New Music for Trumpet and Piano can be ordered at Bergman’s website, www.jasonbergman.com. The CD can also be ordered at www.msrcd.com and www.amazon.com. CDs ordered from Bergman’s website can be autographed.
