Maya Tureaud, 14, of Convent, La. participated in the Leadership Studies Program at The University of Southern Mississippi June 16-21 on the Hattiesburg campus. The program is presented by the university’s Frances Karnes Center for Gifted Studies.
The one-week residential program, designed for students in grades 6 -11, provides participants with the training to develop and enhance leadership qualities needed to become a leader in the public and private sectors.
Tureaud will be a freshman at Lutcher High School in fall 2013. She is the daughter of Ken and Cynthia Tureaud and the sister of Ken Tureaud, Jr.
