University Police Seeking Assistance in 4th Street Crosswalk Accident

The University of Southern Mississippi Police Department seeks the public’s assistance regarding information related to an accident on 4th Street that has left one student injured.

The incident, which occurred Sunday evening, Sept. 23, around 6 p.m., involved a motorist striking a student traveling on bicycle across 4th Street in the crosswalk near the University’s parking garage and Century Park residence hall. The student’s injuries were not life threatening.

University Police described the car as a white, late-model SUV, possibly a Cadillac, with a spoiler, and a luggage rack atop the vehicle. The vehicle was traveling west on 4th Street.
