WUSM radio at The University of Southern Mississippi is sponsoring its annual Spring Slumgullion every Friday night through March 22, culminating with a day-long music festival on March 24.
The event kicked off on March 1at the Keg & Barrel on Hardy Street in Hattiesburg. The restaurant will host the remaining Slumgullion events leading up to the March 24 festival featuring several of the area’s more talented musical acts: Wes Lee, Drew Young, Vanity Furr, Dr. E & the MS Voodoo Kings, Thomas Jackson, Southbound Crescent, Mark Mann & the Marked Men, and Scott Chism & the Better Half.
Patrons can stop by the Keg & Barrel every Friday night to hang out with the WUSM crew and purchase a package that will include a Spring Slumgullion t-shirt, a $10 gift card to the K&B, as well as a wrist band to the March 24th event.
The Spring Slumgullion promotes WUSM's goal of renovating the station, updating equipment and providing funding for daily operations.
