Josanne Francis, a University of Southern Mississippi music major from Trinidad and Tobago, has been named the new director of the Hattiesburg Community Steel Band, as well as the newly formed Junior Steel Band.

Eleven of the world’s most elite and exclusive marching ensembles will compete at M.M. Roberts Stadium on The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28 as part of the Drum Corps International (DCI) Southern Series Tour.
