The University of Southern Mississippi will welcome with open arms freshmen and transfer students for Golden Eagle Welcome Week (GEWW) when they arrive on the Hattiesburg campus Friday to make it their new home.

Four University of Southern Mississippi students earned valuable hands-on experience in helping children and young adults with disabilities as part of a summer internship at the Institute for Disability Studies (IDS).

Buttross-Brinegar, longtime director of The Children’s Center for Communication and Development at Southern Miss, is retiring at the end of this month noting that “the center and I am ready for a new chapter. This change just feels right.”
