Two University of Southern Mississippi Honors College students from Jones County, Miss. have been accepted into one of the most prestigious law schools in the country.

A noted researcher on economic development will be the keynote speaker for The University of Southern Mississippi’s annual Graduate Student Research Symposium Friday, March 18 from 8 am – 5 p.m. in the Thad Cochran Center.

World renowned flutist and musicologist Ulrike Anton will perform and lecture Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus. The event is part of the spring University Forum series, and admission is free.

An historian whose compelling book on how the cotton industry shaped America’s economy and culture will be the guest presenter at the next University of Southern MississippiUniversity Forum Tuesday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. in Stout Hall B.  Admission is free.

Eleanor Clift, one of Washington’s best known journalists, will present“Countdown to 2012: the Road Ahead” at The University of Southern Mississippi Forum Lecture Series Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.
