University of Southern Mississippi senior Tyokia Parker offered a simple, yet succinct, reason for wanting to participate in preliminary construction of a Habitat for Humanity home as part of a national day of service on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
“I like the idea of being able to help people, especially when it involves giving them a new home,” said Parker, a Lumberton, Miss., native majoring in psychology. “I want to make an impact on someone else’s life.”
