WHAT:Ellen Dunham-Jones, noted architect, planner and author will discuss a growing trend in Mississippi and the United States to redevelop downtowns and under-performing commercial areas into livable, sustainable communities.

SPECIFICS: Ellen Dunham-Jones will present urban design strategies and policies for re-inhabiting, redeveloping and re-greening these properties based on the more than 80 successfully built examples documented in her co-authored book, Retrofitting Suburbia: Urban Design Solutions for Redesigning Suburbs. The book will be available at the event as well as at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at Southern Miss before and after event.
