THURSDAY, JAN. 20

Southern Miss hosts Business Forum

WHEN:8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

WHERE:Trent Lott Center on Hattiesburg campus.

EVENT:The annual business forum titled, “Impact Southern Miss: Turning Knowledge into Innovation,” will feature experts in banking, finance and economic development. For information call 601.266.5989.

Gulf Park campus hosts Health Awareness Day

WHEN:10 a.m.-2 p.m.

WHERE:Fleming Education Center on campus in Long Beach.

EVENT:The 2011 health and screening event will feature more than 20 vendors and organizations providing informative exhibits, screenings and activities. For information call 228.214.3314.

Vocal Arts and Science Symposium set

WHEN:8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

WHERE:Thad Cochran Center on Hattiesburg campus.

EVENT:The Southern Miss School of Music is hosting the inaugural event that blends two popular disciplines. National experts as well as Southern Miss faculty members will participate in panel discussions. A free public recital titled, “The Joy of Singing,” will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg. For information call 601.266.4186.

Gulf Coast campus to host cello performance

WHEN:3 p.m.

WHERE:Fleming Education Center on campus in Long Beach.

EVENT:Dr. Alexander Russakovsky, associate professor of cello at Southern Miss, will perform two cornerstone works for unaccompanied cello. For information call 228.865.4573.
