Students at The DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi have been studying the country of Ireland this summer.

On Wednesday, June 22 the students were treated to Irish dancing and music by members of a local family -- Brian, Debbie and Erin Kreiser of Petal, Miss. The trio sang Irish songs, played the drum and flute and helped the student learn dance steps.

Debbie Kreiser has been performing and teaching Irish dancing for approximately 15 years.

Rebecca Masters received two awards at the Southern Miss Undergraduate Research Conference, including Best Paper Dealing with an Issue of Race/Ethnicity and 2nd Place Paper Dealing with an Issue of Public Policy. Masters also received the Higher Education Appreciation Day Working for Academic Excellence (HEADWAE) award and was inducted into the student Hall of Fame.
