The Provost’s Office is asking Southern Miss students and faculty to assist in the Fall 2012 Textbook Survey that is now available on SOAR. Faculty and students will find separate surveys, which must be completed before midnight on Friday, Nov. 16 to be included in the final results.

University of Southern Mississippi President Martha D. Saunders announced today that Vice President for Research Dr. Denis Wiesenburg has been named as the university’s next provost, pending approval by the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning. The change is effective July 1.

Student Government Association (SGA) President Kasey Mitchell will soon be able to add the title “world traveler” to her list of accomplishments during her tenure at The University of Southern Mississippi.

 

Mitchell, a senior from Picayune, Miss., is one of only 45 SGA presidents from across the United States selected to travel to Russia in March as part of the Open World Leadership Center’s Kremlin Fellows program.
