Dr. Benjamin P. Horton, professor at the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences at Rutgers University, will present “Is Sea-Level Rising?” on Monday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hardy Hall ballroom at The University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach.

Dr. Benjamin P. Horton, professor at the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences at Rutgers University, will present “Is Sea-Level Rising?” on Monday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fleming Education Center auditorium at The University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach.

The event, sponsored by the university’s Department of Marine Science and the Center for Gulf Studies, is a public lecture as part of the department’s annual “Denis and Jean Wiesenburg Distinguished Lecture in Ocean Science.”

Offering Mississippi’s only undergraduate degree program in marine science, The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast continues to enhance and enrich the program for students planning to enter the field of marine science. Most recently, the degree program expanded with the addition of marine science instructor, Dr. Danielle Greenhow, who specializes in marine mammal acoustics and bioacoustics.
