Student Association at Southern Miss

"Making a Living While Making a Difference"

Students pursuing AH certification at Southern Miss participate in the American Humanics Student Association (AHSA). Participating in AHSA enables students to gain practical experience in fundraising and program planning while networking with other student groups and local and state nonprofit professionals.

Activities of the student association include

  • Fundraising activities for students attending the American Humanics Management Institute
  • Hosting community service projects
  • Hosting workshops and nonprofit speakers

The student group meets monthly (see below for schedule). Meetings are held on both the Hattiesburg and Gulf Coast campuses. Students can attend meetings on either campus. Each location will elect an executive committee of chair, vice-chair, secretary, and treasurer.
