Freeing the Power of the Individual

Welcome

Dear NSBE Members:

Welcome to the National Society of Black Engineers. I greet you, not only as the President of this extraordinary organization, but also as a fellow pioneer who is proud to be amongst so many bright and ambitions minds, who, despite all of the stereotypes and negative traffic, want to become better individuals while excelling academically and professionally.

Academic and professional excellence comes only by way of motivation and determination. If you are determined to reach those high goals that you set forth for yourself, we will do all in our power to help you attain them. That is one of the things that N.S.B.E does best. We help people find internships and full-time employment positions in the areas of their interest. There will be workshops and scholarships available to anyone ambitious enough to want them. Companies will be literally throwing opportunities at you. Your only job will be to catch them. There will be career fairs composing of immense numbers of employers who are eager to hire determined individuals; individuals who not only foster academic excellence, but a great personality as well.

Character is important in this organization. Here in the National Society of Black Engineers, we are determined to foster amity and brotherhood. You will form strong bonds with individuals of all backgrounds. When we travel to regionals and nationals, you will meet people from all over the country and abroad who all share the same insights and professions as we do. This will be the opportunity to meet and network with different people, as well as, prominent companies and employers. We have an excellent advisor this year and a group of unwavering individuals on the executive board. They are here for you. They will be working strenuously for the body of this chapter because we realize that you are the most important thing to us. We are but one part of an entire entity that exist nationwide composing of over 15,000 individuals who have become part of this extraordinary revolution. This revolution is gradually taking over the country as we know it. Boston told us that the revolution will not be televised. We told them that the revolution will not be stopped.

We will not stop striving for those goals that we set forth. We will not go quietly into the night because of a hint of negative traffic. We will not give up on our dreams. We owe it to ourselves to make N.S.B.E all that we want it to be. Put in to it what you want out of it. If you want a lot out, put a lot in. This is a revolution. You are part of a dynasty of over 15,000 strong. Be proud. Tell all about this takeover that is sweeping the nation, because the revolution will not be televised.

Sincerely,

Courtney Harrell
NSBE President
