Vietnamese Americans of the Gulf Coast Oral History Project featured with Smithsonian Journey Stories Traveling Exhibit

Photos by Sun Herald photojournalist Tim Isbell and USM faculty member Betty Press were featured along with photos and oral history audio excerpts by Linda VanZandt, of the Center for Oral History, February 25-March 8, 2010, at USM Gulf Park's Katrina Research Center. As Pam Firmin of the Sun Herald wrote, "The exhibit brings to life the realities of how Vietnamese residents came to the Coast, their decisions to escape their homeland, the dangerous boat trips they took to do so, and how they are living their lives in their new community."
