Documentation
consists of taped-recorded interviews and (in many cases) either
color slides or black and white photographs. Tapes are in the
process of being transcribed and bound, but are available for
schools to listen to. Original tape recordings and photographs
are held at present in the Center for Oral History and Cultural
Heritage.
Below
are lists of individuals documented for the Piney Woods Regional
Folklife Survey and the Piney Woods Community Scholars Program.
Each listing includes the interviewee's county (and state if not
Mississippi), and traditional skill or area of knowledge. Interviews
for the Regional Folklife Survey are grouped by state. These lists
are not in alphabetical order. Some people are listed twice because
they were interviewed by different fieldworkers.
