Special Event Parking Request

   We welcome our visitors to the university campus and want to make every effort to make this an enjoyable experience. We need your assistance in order to provide the best service for our visitors.

     Parking is an increasingly scarce commodity on campus and the cost of maintaining and enhancing is increasing. In fairness to the university community, events utilizing these services should share in the expense of them.

     Due to the numerous events (i.e., conferences, seminars, etc.) held at Southern Miss, we request a three-day written advance notice if your department desires an area to be blocked for an event. Barricades will be removed one hour after the designated beginning time of event as provided on the request form.

     Event Parking will be made available in a limited number of parking areas for various organizations sponsoring events on campus as approved by the Department of Parking Management.

     Special Event Parking may not be used or requested for students, faculty or staff, visitors only.

     A $25 administrative fee will be assessed to any booking/changes made less than 24 hours in advance (if accepted by Parking Management)

     A $25 cancellation fee will be assessed to any cancellation made less than 24 hours.

     Parking Management reserves the right to require additional monitor coverage and traffic control for large events. The costs for additional monitor coverage will be $50 per monitor, for a minimum of three hours. So please plan accordingly.

     A new rate structure is in place as of July 1, 2009. Any events booked with Parking Management prior to July 1, 2009 will not be affected by the rate increase (with some exceptions).

Payment is required when services are render.
Payment may be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Interdepartmental.
Parking for Special Event must be submitted three days in advance.
