ALERTS
As part of the electrical infrastructure upgrade, the power will be off May 19 through May 21, in Hattiesburg Hall, Hickman Hall and Mississippi Hall.
During this time the chiller plant that services several building will also be down, therefore the following buildings will not have air conditioning service: Beedie Smith Clinic, Bolton Hall, Jones Hall and Pulley Hall.
DETOURS
- Construction fences are in place and site preparation for the demolition of Vann and Scott Halls and the east end of Bond Hall has begun. In the coming weeks, the buildings will be dismantled through a selective demolition process to prepare for the construction of Century Park South. Some noise and dust should be expected, along with increased traffic of commercial equipment. Parking along Black and Gold Avenue will not be affected during the demolition process; however, the parking lots behind Vann Hall will be closed permanently
- The South Entrance of the Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building is closed while cornice restoration takes place.
- N. 31st Avenue, between Montague Blvd and Pearl Street is currently closed. The pedestrian corridor between Joseph A. Greene Hall and the Liberal Arts Building is being revamped to create a brick-topped streetscape and community friendly environment that will include picnic tables and bike racks.
